1.Kate McGill

Not many singers can successfully cover a song by Adele, much less do it with an original sound and style. But Kate McGill did in 2009 and grabbed a lot of attention singing ‘Someone like you‘. In 2011, the English singer-songwriter released her much anticipated debut album, Replaced.

2. Rizzle Kicks

British duo Rizzle Kicks combine an old school hip hop sound with hipster swag. Jordan Stevens and Harley Alexander-sule have been uploading their music via Youtube since 2009 and eventually caught the attention of record label big wigs. In 2011, they released their debut album, Stereo Typical, which happens to be not so typical.

 3. Emeli Sande

She is being called the next ‘Adele’ and, ironically, Adele is actually here first name, but she goes by her middle name Emeli. Although she has been in the game a long time, mostly writing songs for some of the world’s greatest artists, it’s now her turn to step into the spotlight. Emeli Sande has a sultry, soulful voice that will make you have an ear-gasm.

4. Delilah

She is England’s hot new artist and for a very good reason. Delilah has been on the dub step scene for awhile, performing with Chase and Status on their 2011 tour. Her own music differs from her drum ‘n’ bass/ dub roots. When asked to describe her sound in an by interview by Pyromag.com, she said it’s “strong, dark, melodic, soulful pop”.
